-
What does your organization do?
The Ankeny Community School District Foundation raises and distributes funds to support teachers, students, clubs and organizations for programs and initiatives beyond the school district budget.
-
How can I get involved?
The Ankeny School Foundation is an entirely volunteer-run board. We’re always on the lookout for individuals like you wanting to get involved. Visit our How To Help section to find out ways to donate or volunteer.
-
If I were to donate funds, how is my money used?
All of the proceeds raised through annual fundraisers and donations made to the Ankeny School Foundation is given back to our schools in the form of grants and scholarships.
-
Do you accept memorial donations and also set up scholarships?
The Ankeny School Foundation can help you make scholarships possible for graduates of Ankeny's two high schools. The Foundation accepts contributions and memorials, invests the funds, and distributes the scholarships in accordance with the donor’s request. To reach as many Ankeny students as possible, annual scholarship funds are administered by Dollars for Scholars.
The Foundation holds several funds to assist Ankeny students and honor the memory of donors, including:
Dick and Irene Basham Memorial
Michael Burright Memorial
Care Initiatives for Keith Hopkins Memorial
Marissa Paca Memorial
Scott Vencil Memorial -
Do you accept corporate matching gifts?
Many employers generously offer matching gift programs to benefit local public schools. Because the Foundation is a tax-exempt organization under the provisions of IRS code 501(c)(3), we are able to receive matching contributions from employers. Some of the companies that make matching donations include:
MidAmerican Energy
DuPont Pioneer
The Principal Financial Group
Wells Fargo
John DeereThe requirement for the matching portion of a contribution varies by employer. Employees wishing to donate to Ankeny Community Schools should send their contribution, along with their employer’s completed Matching Gift Application/Grant Form to the Ankeny School Foundation. The Foundation will certify the gift; forward the initial donation as designated by the donor, and file for the matching funds to the appropriate institution.
If the matching institution is not one of the above-listed companies, the donor is asked to provide a copy of their company’s program requirements. Matching funds will be handled in compliance with the company's program.
The use of any gift made to the Foundation may be designated by the donor. Payroll deductions or other contributions designated for a specific purpose will be forwarded to the intended recipient as donor-designated funds. The matching portion of the gift will be applied for and held in accordance with the specific provisions of each company’s gift program.
